She's doing it again....please help this cat mommy!!
Every morning either 2am, 3am, 5am, 6am....the crying/meowing begins and does not stop unless I go to her. She paces from her room to the door to my bedroom ... I hear the meows getting louder and softer. I really don't want to shut her in her room just so I don't hear her...what does a cat mommy do?
When I get up she is just as happy as I can be purring jumping into my lap and rubbing against me. My little girl just wants love and attention...but trust me she gets a ton of it....I have no friends here in atlanta yet except her and my SO...SO travels a lot so it's chloe and mommy...maybe she gets too much attention????
HELP PLEASE!!!

Would you consider getting a playmate for her? I used to hear my cat crying on my way to my front door every evening and I got another cat to keep him company. The second cat I adopted is the same age and sex. Don't worry about your home not being big enough either, I was in a one bedroom apartment when I first got mine.

Why does she have a "room"? She doesn't roam freely?

Why don't you let her in your room?

So she has a room where her "stuff" is and this is a dog free area that is separated from the rest of the house by a child gate. At night when we go to bed we shut the gate so she roams the hallway and her room. I can leave the gate open for her to roam...but she doesn't really leave her room unless the dogs aren't around or I am there.
My boyfriend and I declared the bedroom a pet free zone. It was a compromise since if chloe was aloud in then the dogs too and that is too much in a small bedroom and the dog smell is hard for me as it is.

I can understand that to be a tough situation... I know my eldest would be very upset if she couldn't sleep with mommy and fortunately she is able to do just that. However, having pets in the bedroom isn't for everyone (some people have allergies), and I too would not want a dog in my bed. We have about 3 cats in our bed on any given night but I've never had a dog in my bed and never will. Maybe spend time laying with her before you go to bed... invite her to lay with you on the couch or something? A kitty friend may work, but I hesitate recommending that as sometimes they don't get along and owners get freaked out, then someone ends up having to find a new home. If you and your BF want another cat it may help, but again, I know my oldest hates the other cats in our house, but would be miserable if she could sleep with me - she'd meow all night long too. Usually I get waken b/c of cat fights involving her.
