Shoes on babies
My DD is 7.5 months and refuses to wear shoes or socks. She takes them off within 5 minutes of getting them on. Do I need to start making her wear shoes so that she can learn to walk? She's already pulling herself up on absolutely everything, cruising a little, and "walking" when you hold her hands. I swear she thinks she can walk sometimes because she'll be standing holding on to something, and then try to walk away, but fall right down. Anyway, someone told me recently I have to put her in the right shoes fo when she is learning to walk. Are her barefoot days over?

Actually, barefoot is best when they're learning to walk, so keep her out of shoes!

I never put DS in shoes until after he was already walking and only if we were outside.
I don't think having shoes helps her learn to walk faster if that is what you are asking . . .

Re: Shoes on babies
I bought crawling stage shoes, Pediped I think they are called. They are just for show IMO. If your DD doesn't want to wear them, it's not a big deal but when winter comes she will have to so I would do it for a while each day to ger her used to them.

barefoot is best when learning to walk. I didnt even put DD in shoes til she was walking 100% on her own all of the time.

Re: Shoes on babies
My DD is 10 months old and I have all these cute shoes for her and within 5 min. of me getting them on her they are off again. Since it's the summer and it's hot I don't even bother anymore, she's barefoot all the time but it looks cute. Nothing like a sweet little dress and cute little chubby feet hanging out.

Re: Shoes on babies
DD is 15 months and still hates wearing shoes and socks. It's best to get them to walk barefoot at first anyway!
