Shop Rite at home...anybody tried this yet?
With DS#3 arriving any day now I'm looking into using this shopping service as a backup in case I can't get to the store... Seems a lot like Pea pod from Stop and Shop except you Don't have it delivered to your house, you have it delivered to your car at the store for a flat rate of $10. Anyone try it?

$10 is a lot if you have to go pick it up.
Orders over $100 are only $6.95 and delivered to your kitchen with peapod ($9.95 for orders under $100)

Thanks -- for me I've found that Shop Rite's sales are better than Stop and Shop but I have to "work" at it. So if I take both older boys to the actual store to go shopping for the week, it can take me more than an 1.5hrs -- $10 to pay someone else to do the shopping seemed reasonable for me!! But I think I have a coupon for $2.50 off delivery for Peapod -- maybe I'll try that first?

I do it all the time. It's more money to shop but the sales are better at Shoprite. It's cheaper to do the shop at home for me.
I get it from west Babylon. The woman who does it there is awesome, and she picks out better meat and produce than I can.

Great to hear! May I ask if you tip the woman who "shops" for you?

No, I don't tip her. They can't take tips. I worked there when I was a kid, she was my boss, lol. I never even thought about tipping her.
It's awesome though. I do it every week I did peapod once because they offered $20 off the first order. Shoprite is a lot cheaper.

It is way way better than Pea Pod. The selection is so much bigger than pea pod, and the prices at Shop Rite are generally better.

I use this service every week. I tell DH all the time it is worth the $10 because if I had to go into the supermarket on a weekend, I'd wind up on the cover of Newsday having run someone over with my cart. It's easy to shop from home via their online service. You can also type in things if they don't come up on the site. Additionally you can load the circular and click directly on things in the circular. If they have questions or don't have something they always call. It's mostly the same people that do it for us every week. I am on a first name basis with the one woman. We don't tip every week, but we always do around the holidays.
