Shopping for home and car insurance?
My insurance bill went up again this year, and it is time to shop for new coverage. What’s the best way to do it? Would you contact various insurance companies for quotes or use an insurance broker?
Any good insurance brokers you can recommend?
Thanks!

Shopping for home and car insurance?
Check with Geico, my homeowners' insurance actually went down this year.

Don't know where you are located but gieco told me last week they aren't insuring any new homes in suffolk because it's a coastal zone.
I spent the afternoon calling around every company I could think of. I ended up saving $400 a year between car and home.
ETA: we bundled car and auto with Allstate

Re: Shopping for home and car insurance?
Every few years I call around and ask for new rates - let them know you're happy but will go with the cheapest provider.
I've found that it's cheaper to not bundle through Geico (even though they offer multi-line discounts). I have auto through Geico and home owners' through State Farm.
