Shortened cervix at 32 weeks?
I had my growth sono today (baby looked good - yay!) and the tech said my cervix is measuring at 2.8. The Dr. followed up afterward to check internally and said he isn't concerned at this point, but scheduled me for another sono in 2 weeks.
Has anyone had cervical shortening in their 3rd trimester? Does it mean that I'm likely to deliver early? Also, does anyone happen to know if GHI will cover the additional sono (I haven't had the patience to call them yet)? TIA!

Re: Shortened cervix at 32 weeks?
My cervix shortened to 1.1 at 28 weeks but I was having triplets but the Dr just put me on modified bedrest at home and I made it to 36 weeks and delivered them by csection. I wouldnt be concerned bc 2.8 cm isnt that bad its when you get down to 1 cm. Try to stay off your feet as much as possible. Good luck.

Re: Shortened cervix at 32 weeks?
I had a shortened cervix at 27 weeks with my 1st pregnancy. It was measuring at 2.2 (although none of these measurements are exact). I was put on strict bedrest and delivered DD at 36 weeks(as soon as I was taken off of bedrest). I think its more of a concern if your cervix shortens, rather than if it is short. For example my cervix started out short with my current pregnancy(around 2.8) but as long as it stays that way it is not a concern...it was the shortening to 2.2 that had them worried with the last one. So if this was your first time being measured it might not be as concerning as if you have been measured before and it got shorter. My insurance(although not GHI) covered all sonograms for the cervix measurements.
