Should I be concerned yet (eating related)
DD is 9 1/2 months and is very selective about what she eats but it seems a little bizarre. She eats dry and crunchy finger foods just fine (dry dereal, puffs.) The eats her rice cereal fine. Anything that is together pureed and sweet is off limits. Peas and green bean puree seems ok. Anything that is table food she won't let us feed her - only wants to feed herself, but when we try to let her feed it to herself, if she doesn't like how it feels, she won't eat it. She won't eat anything that is sticky, wet or damp, oily.
Here is what she WON'T eat:
by spoon-
fruit purees sweet veggies (squash, carrots, sweet potatoes) yogurt pastina
by hand (from herself or from us)
meat cheese (only pices of american cheese singles but that is touch and go) fruit veggies pasta bread that is not toasted (on the doughier side) french fries potatoes pancakes with or without syrup
I feel like her diet consists of formula, rice cereal, some veggie purees, some jarred dinners, puffs and cheerios.
Not sure if I should be concerned . . .

She's fine with formula until 1 year. Tht said-she should be getting used to some different textures. My kids LOVE anything cut in sticks-toast, chicken, etc..they are older than her. BTW you hav eto try a food up to 10 times before you can say-my baby doesn't like that!

I'd say it's pretty normal at this age but if you don't vary the food, she may get stuck to a few textures. I would keep offering - even if it had to take different forms for a few days.
For example, toasted bread, lightly toasted bread, lighter toasted bread, the regular bread
It's called food chaining. I've been looking into it for my son.
But to answer the question, I wouldn't be too concerned. My friend's son only ate white food and another friend's son only ate crunchy, dry food for awhile until they grew out of it.

I guess I was just worrying because of how she hates the feeling of touching so much of it and then that leads to not eating it. Maybe it isn't as strange as I think, I just worried about how tactile sensitive she is with food.

Have you tried baby spoons or forks?

I understand why you'd be concerned. I do know kids that had EI for food issues. I think you're a good mom for being proactive & asking.
