Should I cancel DD one yr party tomorrow? UPDATE

She was diagnosed with an ear infection yesterday. She didnt sleep all night last night bc she has a really bad cough too. She on amoxicillin which i have to force to get it down. the party is tomorrow at a rest. at 1.....DH doesnt want me to cancel but I think we should. shes pretty much in "ok" spirits but can be cranky..


THANKS FOR UR INPUT. WE DECIDED TO KEEP THE PARTY ON. hOWEVER DD TOOK A TURN FOR THE WORSE TODAY. SHE DIDNT EAT AT ALL HARDLY! SHE IS VERY TIRED. I HOPE TOMORROW SHE FEELS BETTER. IT BREAKS MY HEART AT HER ONE YR PARTY THAT SHES S SICK.

I would say no.

Once the amoxicillian kicks in, she'll be feeling better - and it will protect her from secondary infections.

I agree. Unless for some reason you see that today she gets worse.

I think she will be ok. DS was on amox last month and by day 2 he was a totally different baby and by day 3 he was in really good spirits again!

Just an FYI with amoxiciilan - sometimes they get an amoxicillian "rash". My ped said it is NOT an allergic reaction, but a side effect.

I agree. Unless for some reason you see that today she gets worse.

Don't cancel. My son has an ear infection and he was feeling so much better after just 1 dose of the amoxicillian (at least what he got of it because he won't take it!).

bridget was on amoxicillon before christmas & i have to say hours later she was better. i almost didnt believe it.

Hope she's better by tomorrow! I know Joseph was feeling better after a full day of antibiotics.
