Re: Should i finish...
if you are close to finishing it i would continue but maybe double major in something else so you can get dual certification.

I would go for dual certification as well... also, just to give yourself more options in the event teaching doesn't work out. Also, you have to be happy in what you do, it's not about how much you make.
also, a lot of people on LI complain about not finding a job... it is hard out there... but there are options (teaching in the city, even relocating....) you have to do what makes you happy and what works for you.....

I agree with the other posters about getting a dual certification. That will definitely help you.
Also, have you student taught yet? If you have, you should know if teaching is for you.
I saw that you said you wanted to go into the medical field. I wouldn't just go into the medical field for the money. You have to think about what you will be the happiest doing. That is a decision only you can make. Good luck!

I agree w the others as well. Getting dual cert. can only help. If you love teaching, you might want to give it a try before you change your whole career path.

I would definitely stick it out. Get dual certified if you can.
You may get totally lucky and end up someplace student teaching that has an opening the following year.

Re: Should i finish...
For me teaching is the most rewarding job I could ever have. But I am considering leaving the field since it is so hard to get a job. What I am seeing NOW is that many many districts want you to have a bilingual extension in most likely Spanish. So, if you get a dual certification special ed or something and can pull off getting a bilingual extension you will be in GREAT shape to get a job.
On the other hand, nursing is also a very stressful but rewarding job in high need. You would probably get a job before you finished school. Maybe you could become a pediatric nurse.

Re: Should i finish...
If it is your dream, I would finish the degree and give it a year or so if you don't find something right away. I think the idea of dual cert is a good one. Good luck
