Should I send him to nursery school tomorrow?

We had the stomach virus yesterday. He hasn't thrown up since 4 yesterday afternoon and his fever broke during the night. He is eating, playing and acting like his old self. No fever and no vomiting today.

I struggled with this when Maddie got sick. The pediatrician said as long as it had been 24 hours since vomiting or fever and she "seemed" OK, then to send her.

As long as he is symptom free for 24 hours.. I'd send him.

As long as there is no fever (without meds) or vomiting for a full 24 hours and he feels well enough it should be okay. But if he has diarrhea I would keep him home.

You are still contagious for 3 days after the first symptoms of a stomach virus....But it is up to you...I really don't have an opinion, just wanted to share this with you...

Re: Should I send him to nursery school tomorrow?

We went to the ped Thursday AM after vomiting for hours Wednesday overnight to Thursday. She said DD could go back to daycare today. Unfortunately DD woke with 101.5 fever at 2AM so back to the ped we went today. She said if DD STTN without fever she can go back to daycare tomorrow - otherwise we have to wait until Wednesday.

I agree as well. Our ped and her school follow the same rule.
