Ok, I was just explaining the situation to my friend who knows him, and she had a really good idea. She thinks I should have JT call him to respond no. Just to annoy him.Chat Icon

I like that response!

Oh, you have to call to RSVP. Eckkk. Can't e-mail? I would mail that thing-write on it, declined. Make it a FORMAL no.

I would email, and RSVP No. Put a lameass excuse on there too - like, um, sorry, we'll be bathing our child that day Chat Icon Chat Icon

Another vote for snotty. You were too busy with your human baby to respond

ugh thats annoying- why would he be so cold about your pregnancy and wedding?
maybe be cause he is a guy and doesnt understand ...(no offense guys- but sometimes you dont understand!)

his fiance is the one that probably sent the inviations, not him. he probably just added your name to his list - so as for the RSVP id definitely respond- be the better person with that.

as for him as a friend he doesnt seem to put much of an effort into the friendship...i am not sure i would go out of my way to contact him again

I agree... good luck with your decision!! Sorry you have a friend that is treating you that way.... Chat Icon

BEAM ME UP SNOTTY!

I would be a snot. Eff him-he's not acting like an adult. You don't owe him a thing.

If it ever comes up down the road, you can say that with the birth of your first child it's been so hectic..blah..blah..oh, you know-real life!

He's no friend. However, take the higher road, respond and decline. Obviously, no gift.

this would be my advice as well.

Re: Should I take the high road or be a you know what?

I'm a b***c when it comes to things like that, so no I would not respond. When we were getting married my DH had 2 friends '(twin sisters actually) who were "so excited" to come to our wedding. The dayI was to give the headcount I had to call these girls and ask if they were coming, they both said yes and with dates. They never showed. They never ever acknowledged our wedding. One of the sisters had the nerve to call us and ask for our address so she can invite us to her wedding, I said dont bother I can tell you now we arent coming, she had the audacity to ask whyI was being so rude.

I say be a youknow whatChat Icon

I would definitely NOT RSVP. And if he calls, give him the same runaround and never RSVP.

I agree...tell him you're trying to make arrangements but never RSVP!

Sorry I can be a bit spiteful and hold grudges for a while.

Re: Should I take the high road or be a you know what?

I could be REALLY spiteful and respond YES and not show up! But I won't do that. I'm still pondering having JT call him and say, "My wife and I will not be able to attend, you know, since she's giving birth soon and all." Chat Icon

Take a picture of your belly & respond no.Chat Icon

If it were me, I definitely wouldn't go. I'd respond no & leave it at that. I wouldn't send a gift or a card. I'd just chalk it up to a fade away friendship.

If he does that...JT should ask how long he was in labor with his cat?
