Should Sesame Place be a day trip from NYC or a weekend trip?

We ended up not going to Sesame Place this weekend. DH thought it wasn't worth the $$$ to go for just 2 hours. We had to eat lunch so it was more like only 1 hour at the park.

Do you go as just a day trip from NYC or do you recommend that we spend the night there?

If you did spend the night, where did you stay? Langhorne? Philly?

I think both are feasible. We stayed overnight last year, and while it was fun and nice to be "on vacation", it definitely wasn't necessary.

Same here, though I'm out in mid-Suffolk so it was about a 3 hour car ride. Definitely not necessary to stay over, but it was nice to just relax at the end of the day...and I think all the tickets are 2-day admissions, right? It makes it hard to pass up the "free" second day (though you are paying for a hotel in order to use the 2nd day....though I guess you could drive back/forth 2 days in a row too).

IF we go this year, we'll be doing a day trip.

It's less than 2 hours from Bellmore (usually). My cousin lives in Langhorne - same town as Sesame Place. For us with a one year old, we find it so much easier to go down and back the same day. We drive down and she naps and then we leave at about 8pm and she sleeps the whole way home. This way we don't have to pack as much either.

I used to go all the time when my brother and I were little...it was always a day drip. We are going this year in July for Alex's first time..We plan on doing a day trip. Although if we stayed over in a year or so with the two kids we would try Hershey or dutch wonderland for a two day.

we went last year (from Wantagh) and it took about 2 hours. we did it in just a day and did everything we wanted.

We went last year (we live in suffolk) and made it a day trip. DD was 18 months and had an awesome time. We got there around 10 and left around 4. She slept the entire way home. We had an awesome time and did everything.

We went as a day trip last summer and had a great time. We were there right when it opened and stayed until 5. It was plenty of time and we got to sleep in our own comfy beds.

We have done it both ways and have been happy with the results both times.
