Should we start Clomid/IUI next week?
Hi,
Just wanted to get your opinions on this; our new doctor wants me to call office next week when I get my period and do FSH blood test, since the last place never gave me one. He also wants me to start on Clomid right away and start IUI.
Do you think I should wait and see what the FSH test shows and start next month? Or should we just do what the dr. says and start meds right away?
For those of you who have done Clomid/IUI, what is the timeframe like? Will I have to be going to dr.'s office every day?
TIA

I don't know much about FSH levels, do you have any other issues that you know of? If you are reluctant to start clomid you can do an unmedicated IUI cycle. You will not have to go to the office every day. If you choose to do clomid, you'll go back around CD12 to see how your follies are doing. If they are a good size, you will either trigger or use OPKs to determine when you are surging. Then you'll go back for IUI. Its about 3 or 4 visits in a 2 week timeframe.

ITA. Also, they will not have you start unless your #'s are good. I always knew I would go in for CD3 bloodwork, and start Clomid that evening. But I had to get the official "ok" first from the nurse once they got my results later in the day.

In general (and I have gotten lots and lots of IUI's)- I was at the Dr. at most 6 times in a cycle...Good Luck !

Re: Should we start Clomid/IUI next week?
Thanks, guys; from an ultrasound, I was told I don't have many eggs left and DH has some motility and morphology issues.
I guess I'll schedule the FSH test and see what they say from there. Will they determine from the FSH test whether I really need the Clomid or not? Our doctor said he wanted to start me on it regardless because it couldn't hurt.

How could they tell how many eggs you have left through an ultrasound Antral foillicles? I had always heard they are only a slight indicator...and what about your DH was his sperm tested?

Re: Should we start Clomid/IUI next week?
This is why our new dr. was so upset that I was never given an FSH test to get a more detailed idea on my egg situation.
DH's analysis came back with borderline motility and diminished morphology. The new dr. said it wasn't great but it's not that bad.
