I just buy a new one for a few bucks. I don't have the patience to clean it. I think I replace mine like every two months.

I just replaced mine today actually. I usually replace it every few months or when it starts looking gross. They are cheap!

I replace the inner one every 3-6 months. I think I spend like $5 at LNT.
I tried to clean it too with no luck.
