Shower head & water pressure?

Silly question i know, but can changing your shower head affect your water pressure?

Basically our water pressure stinks and so i was hoping maybe a new shower head would increase the pressure. Do you think it would? Chat Icon

Re: Shower head & water pressure?

We had a problem with low water pressure and thought that it was from changing the shower head, but the SCWA came and told us that we had to increase the pressure on the tank (there is a knob or something to control it and the previous homeowners had it turned down really low) Maybe you can try this

Yes - there is a way to increase it at the tank... we had to do it at my house also.

However, we have one of those rainfall shower heads, and the water pressure stinks with it in general!

Re: Shower head & water pressure?

We adjusted the pressure on the water pump......Also, we bought a showerhead from Walmart ($7.00!!) that increases the water pressure. It totally works!

It might. Your shower head might also just need a good cleaning inside it - you could have mineral deposits that are blocking the flow. I know they sell cleaners for this, but think you can also use vinegar or something. Try googling it. HTH!
