Shower location poll - please help
We are torn between Piccola Bussola in Huntington/Woodbury and Il Giardano in Commack.
Please tell me your opinions. Both have great packages!
I have not eaten at either so that is why I need the help.
Thanks!

Piccola Bussola is one of my favorite restaurants, but I have never had a catered event there

Re: Shower location poll - please help
funny - both are on my list to look into for my shower!
I've eaten at both, but never for a party. Sorry!
I'm also considering Ciro's in Kings Park.

Re: Shower location poll - please help
My Mom recently attended a party at Piccolo Bussola in Huntington and said the food was terrible. Some of it had to be sent back - it was that bad.
She also said it was very cramped where they were set up - they had about 30 people at their party.
It may have just been the day (every place can have an "off" day) - but it was VERY recent, so I would be a little wary...
I don't know anything about your other location, I am sorry.
What about Mim's in Syosset? Or Cafe Testarosa?? Or Bonwitt Inn in Commack?

How many people Pork?
My parent's new fave resturant is Orlando's in Commack. They have a great package for showers too. The food and service are amazing.
I think they can probably fit 40 people, it's not a very big place. But very cute and intimate.

My MIL didn't like Il Giardano but then again she's hard to please.
I'm not sure of the food your looking for but I just booked F.H Rileys in Huntington Village on 110. I ate there first & the food was great. The prices cant be beet. The entire catering menu is on the website.

I would vote Piccola Bussola, but if you're open to other suggestions, La Giocanda in Great Neck is nice, resonably priced and the food is good!

I've never been there myself. But my parents rave. They aren't the best judge of decor though. They do say the food and staff are amazing.

Re: Shower location poll - please help
My baby shower was at Il Giardino. It was a nightmare.
My family was in a terrible frame of mind that day because my grandmother passed away the night before, and the staff at Il Giardino was extremely rude, unaccommodating and nasty, even after we asked that they please direct all questions and "problems" to my father and not my distraught mother. They did not honor a single thing they agreed to, including keeping the room private. They sat lunch patrons in the middle of my party!
Needless to say, I don't recommend them.

My party was in the back room sections off from the main dining room. There are no blinds in that part.
They don't have the most exciting decor. Pretty plain actually.

Re: Shower location poll - please help
I've never been to a party at either, but just in terms of food, I've eaten at both many times, I think the food is much better at il Giardino. I would however want to be assured that I would have a private area.

Re: Shower location poll - please help
I am from Commack and haven't eaten at Orlando's but when I was looking into it for DD's Christening, I didn't hear the best things.
I have eaten at Il Giardino, but not for a party. The food was good, but the restaurant was empty so I don't know how the service would be for a big group.
I know that its a little bit further than where you were looking, but my shower was at the Rosewood Inn on 110. It is really easy for people to get to and the food was great - we had a brunch buffet. The service was wonderful too.

I've been to both. I think the food is excellent at both places. I don't think you can go wrong with either of them.
