Shower locations in Queens
Anyone know of a relatively inexpensive place to do a shower in Queens, preferably Astoria?
Actually even Nassau would be fine. I have family coming from upstate and throughout the island so I want to make it in a central location.
Thank you!!!

Sergios in Massapequa is around $20 a head.
They have a pretty large guest menu as well.
I know they have a website if you google.

The Lucky Duck in Garden City averages around $25pp
I've never been there, but I remember Village Russo in Queens had some affordable pp packages when I inquired about them for my sister's shower last year.

SlyFox near SJU is under $20pp for a luncheon- http://www.slyfoxinn.net/party_plans.htm
Dante's in Fresh Meadows is also pretty good http://www.danterestaurantnyc.com/ We paid cash so they gave us a discount for that

Giardionos is great. They will likely be 45pp though. Papazzio on bell has packages that start at 29pp for the ull restaurant.

I don't know what they charge, but I went to a shower at Bourbon Street in Bayside once and it was cute!

Re: Shower locations in Queens
Thanks everyone!
On a side note... do you think it is more expensive to host a shower at someone's house or to do it at a restaurant?
I'm trying to weigh out the options because if it's hosted at a house it would be all the way out in Suffolk or up in Rockland County and I'd rather it be somewhere more central.

I've done the comparing of pricing on this and it is cheaper to do it at a house HOWEVER, if you factor in waitstaff and cleanup, it really is worth it to pay the little extra to have it at a restaurant. The difference isn't that much that you can turn around and say "O WOW, I can do so much more with this money."
Also, if you think it's more convenient for you to do it in Queens or Nassau then do that.
As for places, try around the Floral Park area. I grew up there and there are so many different places on Jericho and Tulip Ave that you should be able to find something. We're having my shower at Fiore but I don't know what my parents are paying.

Thanks! Yeah I guess there are pros and cons to having it at a house or restaurant. I just don't want my mom and MIL to spend a ton for a home party and have to worry about all the hassle.

Lived in Queens for over 12 years and this is my absolute favorite! Since moving almost and hour away, DH and I compare it to every italian place we go to. None ever measure up!

In Astoria, try portobello on ditmars in the shopping center, they have their prices online. Also, Forno Siciliano on Ditmars and 46th - depending on the # of guests, they can do a party with 50 people.
