Shower places - Suffolk
I am not trying to get ahead of myself but does anyone know cost effective place to have a shower in Suffolk. My sis is gonna be on LI the next few weeks and wants to check out a few places.
I actually am thinking of not having one at all or just a small one where I live. My parents can't afford it and I feel bad putting this strain on my sis unless we can find some crazy good deal.

Re: Shower places - Suffolk
I had the same problem due to family fiancial problems. Best friend is giving shower and will use a local mom and pop restaurant for 20 or 30 people. Sometimes, the local pizza place has a nice dininig area to accomodate your shower with VERY minimal amount. I never understood how some can do an elaborate shower almost like a wedding sometimes. Good for them, I just could never afford it

Where in Suffolk? We live in Western Suffolk but my sister had her DD's first birthday party at Sergio's in Massapequa on Merrick Rd. It was really cheap and there was a lot of food. Check out the website, they give prices and menus.

Re: Shower places - Suffolk
You can always do a Knights of Columbus and just bring in a hero and some salads. I don't know if they're all run the same way but I rented one out for a birthday party and they provided all the tables and chairs and a little kitchen that we were able to use. I think the whole thing ran us under $600

Check out Ciro's in Hauppauge - we just did my sister's baby shower there and it was really reasonable. The food was great too.

Re: Shower places - Suffolk
A friend had her shower at DJs international buffet in Westbury, I believe. I am pretty sure it was very reasonably priced and we all had a good time. Check it out if it isnt too far for you.
Or even check out chinese buffets in Suffolk- some might have private rooms.

Would you consider an in home shower? Both my bridal and baby showers were in home (one at a family friends house, the other at my parents). I thought they turned out nice and were pretty affordable. Or you could try knights of Columbus.

Re: Shower places - Suffolk
I had mine at the Blue Lagoon in West Babylon back in 2009 and it was great. Not only was the price right (I believe that it was $25 pp over 12 years old), the food was good, the room was very nice & they were very accommodating. I'm probably going to have ds#2's christening party there...

Oops, it was Garden City, not Westbury!

Irish Times in Holbrook. Very reasonable and great food...and apparently great champagne punch for brunch - I wouldn't know haha.

Re: Shower places - Suffolk
Wow girls, all of this is SUCH a big help. I really appreciate all your input and I am going to check into a few of these. Maybe my sister can check a few out and in the end I may pay half. Or I may can it all together, not sure.
Also I would love a home shower but it is going to be in July and prob hot as heck and I just cannot put the stress on my mom to host as her house is not so big. It is alot and the clean-up is always a stress. So as much as I would love it, I just cannot do that to my mom or any close friends. Not many of my friends have houses anyway.
