Sibling class at the hospital -worth it?

Hi, Did any of you moms take your little ones to the sibling class at the hospital while you were pregnant?

Was it worth it?

I am torn as to whether I should take DD or not - she is 3. I asked her about it and she said no that she didnt want to go then DH said maybe taking her to a hospital right now is not the best thing with swine flu going around etc.

What do you think?

I am taking my dd to one, it sounds cute

at my hospital, it is free. They tell the siblings to bring a teddy bear and they will give them a shirt for the bear, teach them how to swaddle and change the bear, show them around the maternity ward, etc

My son was 7 when he went..it was cute and def. worth it. They put a diaper on their bear, swaddled it, and took a trip down to the nursery to see where the baby would go. At the end they gave all the kids a "surprise" to give to their mommies..it was a diaper bag full of goodies.

We took my step-daughter when I was pg w/ my DS (she was 7)

And took my DS (3) when I was having my DD...I thought it was really cute and they have a little certificate to remember it by

i think it depends on the age and the child. my dd was 6 1/2 when we took her, and she really enjoyed it.
there were some people there with much younger children that really had no idea what was really going on.

I just went to one last week at Stony Brook and took both my sons, 6 and 3. They both loved it and I think it helped showing them the hospital room, nursery and some of the little babies. They brought teddy bears and my 6 year old learned how to put a diaper on. They showed us a movie which was cute but a little long for the 3 year old. I actually think it was really helpful for both kids and they both really liked it--my 6 year old def got a little more out of it though.
