Sick and working out???

Monday I started coughing and was not feeling great...figured it was a cold...went to the gym came home feeling terrible. Cough got much worse and I realized that it was not a cold but a chest issue. Went to the dr and sure enough it was and got some antibiotics for it. It is Friday and I am still not feeling any better.

I am really stressing that I have not been to the gym all week. My routine is all off. Do you think going would help? I do not want to make it worse and end up with bronchitis......Thoughts???

I know for me, and everyone is different, if I go to the gym and do a light run or a light workout, I recover more quickly. Feel better!Chat Icon

I had the flu last week bad and I was out...could barely walk to the bathroom...and did nothing. but you have to know yourself. you might do a walk instead - to keep your cardio up.

I started back on monday - a little less than I normally do, but it's the end of the week and I'm not that behind where I should be.

I normally would do a light workout through being sick...but this feels much worse than usual. SO i am going to try to not be obsessive (easier said than done Chat Icon ) and give myself through the weekend and start up again in Monday. Thanks girls!!

I am going through the same thing right now. I got sick Tuesday and tried to do a short run thinking I would feel better after, but I felt worse. Now its Friday and I still feel pretty sick and really wanted to work out today. But I think I am going to wait until tomorrow to give my body 1 more day of rest.
