sick kids at parties
We went to a party and the sibling of the bday child and a cousin to that child were sick throwing up. The party was being held at the house where all the sick kids were. We werent told until we got there that anyone was sick and this party was 2 hrs away. Any thoughts? BTW...my dd was jumping up and down with the other kids where one of the sicks kids was laying for hrs. I didnt know this until she was already in there for 5 min. WWYD if you were me in this scenario? WWYD if you had been that parent hosting the party?

Re: sick kids at parties
If I was throwing a party and my DC were vomitting or had been vomitting within the past 24 hours that party would be postponed or cancelled. At the very least the host should call everyone and let them know about it and let people decide if they want to come anyway.
believe I know how much work goes into planning a party and how much it stinks when something unexpected happens, but there's a difference between a runny nose and stomach virus.

The host of the party are beyond rude for having people over with kids throwing up I would have been livid and left! A heads up phone call - email would have been appropriate to at least give people the choice to attend or not with sick people...

honestly i am torn... while i do agree that a phone call would have been nice, it's entirely possible that the sibling only got sick that morning, the mom didn't know it was going to be a virus type thing, and she was busy with last minute party details... although i do think that alternate plans should have been make for the sick kids so they were not in the house.

I left out that it began the night before for 1 of the 2.

ITA! Especially when people were traveling! That was inconsiderate to say the least.
I would have made other arrangements for the sick kids like a PP said AND contacted guests to tell them the situation.

Re: sick kids at parties
DS' party was SUPPOSED to be yesterday. We originally cancelled on Saturday because of the unsure whether. Turns out we would have cancelled anyway since DS is sick.

Re: sick kids at parties
I would have packed up and left. I think it's incredibly rude to host a party while your kids are sick.
