Side effects from MMR & Polio Shots
Did your dc have any side effects from the MMR or Polio vaccinations? My ds got both these vaccines on Sunday morning & this poor baby has has diarrea & a nasty diaper rash for 3 days now. Before I call the doc, I just wanted to see what the BTDT moms/dads think. I feel so bad because he cant even sit on his butt. ive tried desitin, Balmex, A & D ointment & cool compresses. The rash gets better during the course of the day but once he poops again it comes back.
My baby  It breaks my heart to see him in pain like this.

I dont know if its a side effect of the shots, but DD had a very bad diaper rash a few weeks ago and she couldnt even sit down. Dr gave us a prescription for Vusion cream and it cleared everything up within a day.

There are some side effects from the MMR, but I "think" it appears around 14 days after the shot.
For the diaper rash, someone on here recommended Malox. I tried it last week and Mattea's rash was GONE!!
You just apply it directly to the rash.
Hope he feels better!

He got both polio and the MMR? My office gave her MMR and chickenpox,so a different combination but she didn't have any diaper rash/stomach problems from it. Instead exactly 10 days after the shot she started getting a rash on her chest and by the injection site and got a bit worse on day 11 and 12 and then went away.
Definitely recommend the Maalox tip. My friend's wife is a pediatrics nurse and she swears by it.

MMR: possible side effects are fever and rash.
DS did not get any reactions to it.
DtP: fever. DS got sick twice after each shot with a viral infection.

I know DS got a rash about 5 -7 days after his MMR shot on his lower back.
Try Triple Paste, that stuff is IMO better than all the rest.

DD got a fever almost 2 weels later and she got some chicken pox looking things on her skin from the chicken pox shot

Actually, my ped wanted to give him the MMR, Polio & Chicken Pox all on the same day. I was like "NO WAY"!!
I am going to wait until the begining of oct for him to get the chickn Pox vaccine since he told me there was more chance of side effects from the Chicken Pox than Polio.
I am going to try the Malox idea, but what about the diarreah? Is that normal?
