*sigh*.....can someone help me please?
Yes...everything is great...new house, new baby on the way, etc.
The only bad thing going on is: we have tried to finance several big things for the house (the fridge, the big screen tv which we got thanks to some "poor mans" credit at the store) and we need to get a fence put up.
We were denied by Best Buy for the fridge. I'm afraid to try to apply for the fence and get denied. We don't have a single credit card, but it might be that we need to get one so we can get this fence (the dogs are starting to wander and there was a stray running through the yard last night at midnight).
We thought by financing we'd be able to keep some money on our pocket while building up our credit. We only have our mortgage and one car payment and normal bills. The only bad thing is we have some old delinquencies from YEARS ago and FIL one card shows up on DH credit report which we are trying to dispute.

What if you applied for a secured credit card one you pay like 50$ annual fee... That helped me build my credit and now I have decent credit .... but that is the only suggestion i can think of

Re: *sigh*.....can someone help me please?
OK, Shana, here's what Adam had to say:
Well, if her mortgage is with a company that offers credit cards, that would be a good bank to try; also try the bank you have checking or savings with. As far as the dispute goes, if they are not responding to you, you can report it as an error to all 3 credit bureaus. Of course, there's always a home equity loan. Another idea is to try MBNA - they give credit to students a lot so they might be lenient. There's also Cap One or Providian, although they should be used strictly to re-establish credit. I would not recommend Orchard or other sketchy high-risk lenders except as a last resort (home equity would be a much better plan).

Credit Unions are generally pretty good with Credit Cards, I believe.
Glad to help!

Re: *sigh*.....can someone help me please?
Please tell Adam that MBNA is the CC company that we are having an issue with. Their customer service told me that if we get his dads' ss #, dob, etc. they can write a letter to the credit bureaus to update the info.
