Silly baby clothes washing question
After washing them, do you put the baby clothes in the dryer or use a drying rack? And if you do put them in the dryer, do they shrink all that much? I suppose it would depend on the brand too, but I was just curious. Thanks!

Re: Silly baby clothes washing question
i dry everything on low heat, no shrinkage yet! just make sure to NEVER use a dryer sheet, that messes with the flame-retardant stuff they put on baby clothes.

Yes, definitely. I stopped using dryer sheets even for our clothes because I read how they can form a build up in the dryer and transfer that onto the baby clothes.

Re: Silly baby clothes washing question
I used the toddler dryer sheets from BRU. Most clothing is not flame-resistant. Some PJs might be but it will clearly say that.
I tried to keep it on a cooler cycle because they do shrink a bit. Now I dry most of DS's clothes on a drying rack to get more use out of them.

Re: Silly baby clothes washing question
I put it in the dryer on low heat (unless it specifically says otherwise). Sweaters and knitted blankets I put on the sweater rack thingy that came with my dryer.

Re: Silly baby clothes washing question
I was on line at marshalls next to an experienced mom, and we were discussing baby clothes.... she was downloading info on me about specific brands... some apparently are NOTORIOUS for shinking down to barbie doll size (ex. ralph lauren) while others are indestructible and never shrink (carters).
so apparently, it IS brand specific. We'll TRY to drip dry Scone's clothes as much as possible, but frankly, he'll be going through soooo much, I doubt we'll have enough extras to wait for everything to try

Re: Silly baby clothes washing question
I dry them on a lower heat
eta: with the amount of clothes they can go thru (spitting up, wetting thru clothes) I wouldn't have enough room to air dry them all
