Silly Q for BTDT Moms - HOW important is a snack tray on a stroller?

is it a MUST have? - I know everyone has a different opinion, but I didn't even consider this and my cousin's wife said I MUST have this feature -
The strollers I was looking @ (Bugaboo & Maclaren) do not ........

Is it a necessity? Or is it just what your child gets used to??

DD is just recently out of her infant carrier and is sitting in the regular stroller. I used the snack tray yesterday for the first time while shopping and it was definitely helpful! I was able to shop and DD had some puffs on there to keep her entertained. I would get it.

There is a universal snack tray that you can use on a Maclaren (I am almost positive) Not sure if it fits on the Bugaboo. I think that it is pretty important. Not sure if it is a necessity...but I have found that since DS has gotten a bit older I do use the snack tray quite often

I feel its a must, its great for snacks and sippy cups so you don't have to keep passing them to your DC.

It is a must have IMO.

My son won't sit in the stroller unless he is feeding himself something.

I have a Maclaren and I bought a snack tray that clips onto it - but honestly, it's a huge PIA! I still use my Metrolite for because of the snack tray!

IMO.. it is def. a mus have. Even when I was looking for a lightweight stroller I had to have the snack tray.
In order for me to shop in peace my child must have some snacks in front of her. Otherwise she will not sit still. When walking around the mall or stores, the tray will definitely keep her busy. You can also put toys and such in the tray too.
I would def. shop around for strollers with it.

FYI. I bought the Peg Perego OH. It is extremely light and I love it.

I feel it's a MUST. I still use my Chicco and not my Maclaren for this reason.

I did not get the Maclaren or Bumbleride b/c of the lack of snack tray. I think it would be a PITA

IMO, not important at all. I never had one, and never felt the need for one.

It's a must IMO - DS loves to "snack" when we are out and about. I can put snakcs and his drink on the tray.

Thats why i NEVER use my lightwirght stoller and still use my Chicco, because when we have been without a tray it is a disaster!

DD is 26 months- never used a snack tray.

I thought nah, don't need it.

You NEED it!! But I use my umbrella stroller most of the time so I'd concern myself with that, not with the full size stroller since by the time they 'need' snacks, it's later.

I have bug and macclaren, walked seriously miles and miles for hours at a time. Never needed one, never missed it.

what YOU need though is a water bottle holder...that is a must. I bought one for cheap and added it on.

If I put snacks in front of DD on the stroller she would just throw it on the ground.....so right now I don't need it.

If she needs to eat something I can stop and feed her.

For us - it was really a life saver. It is nothing like running errands with a fussy child - it is so easy to give them some cheerios or puffs which often settle them right down. DD just opens and throws the snack cups so without the tray we would have been lost.

DD is 13 months and hardly ever uses the snack tray. That said every kid is different. That aftermarket attachment for the bumper bar is a good idea. I wouldn't forgo a stroller though because it's missing a snack tray...there are many aftermarket ones you can purchase like that one you posted and they also have one for the Maclaren.

we use our umbrella stroller 99.9% of the time and it doesnt have a snack tray. I have yet to feel as if I needed it (DS started in this stroller at 7 months and is now almost 13 months)

I will pass him his drink if he seems to want it, or give him a wagon wheel which takes a few minutes to finish, so I dont feel I need one.

We have 2 strollers- 1 with a snack tray, one without- and having a snack tray is critical!!!
