Silly Question - DC & Neck Control
How do I know if DC has good neck control? (sorry - 1st time mom here!)
He is holding his head up but not completely.
He tries to lift himself up.
He rolls over from his back onto his stomach....

Re: Silly Question - DC & Neck Control
IF he seems to have control versus the head and neck being very loose and woobly. As a NB you see they cannot hold their neck and head up. As they get older, the control comes in. IF you sit the baby up and the head lags instantly to the side, its not as strong as a baby who would try to hold the head up steadier.
I guess thats the best explaination I can come up with.
Not a dumb question either.

Re: Silly Question - DC & Neck Control
Not sure how old your DC is but, I remember when holding DC up over my shoulder he would lift his head off my shoulder (straight up like) and look all around and the ped said he had great head control. So I am assuming if DC can do this they have good head control (as a newborn).

I'm not sure at 3 1/2 months. I can't remember how old DS was when this took place but he was under 2 months definitley.
I remember for his Christmas card pics he was about 3.5 months and in the picture he is on the couch pushing up on his arms with his head completely straight up looking forward - that's the only reference I have from that time period - Sorry!
