Re: since its C-section month on LIF...if you were induced...do u ever feel jipped from the whole CB experience?
I was not induced, but was a schedule c/s with my first due to his size. I was given the option to induce, my OB and I discussed and we both felt the cs was the best way to go.
I dont feel jipped. I do wonder what it would feel like to have ONE contraction as I never had any. But I guess my feeling is simply that my child birth experience was MINE and it was PERFECT for ME and my DS. He was perfect, I felt great afterwards and in the end I dont really think its about how he got from the womb to my arms thats overly important.

I was induced and NO I didn't feel cheated. My water broke on it's own, I still had labor and I still gave birth to a healthy child.

Re: since its C-section month on LIF...if you were induced...do u ever feel jipped from the whole CB experience?
I was induced and a good candidate for CS, but I outright refused it.
I had nothing happening, just dilated. I was like 5cm dialated for 3 weeks.
I was 1 week late. My OB broke my water, 12 hours after I was induced. I never lost mucus plug, I never even had a contraction till an hour after they started induction.
I don't feel jipped at all, even if I ended up with a CS. The whole experience was just so - BIG!, I don't think anything could have taken away from it.

Re: since its C-section month on LIF...if you were induced...do u ever feel jipped from the whole CB experience?
I do not feel cheated AT ALL!!! With my first daughter I went into labor with no plans for a c-section. I dilated VERY slowly, and after being in labor for 34 hours, I finally dilated to 10 cm! I then pushed for 4 hours every 3 minutes when my contractions came. Her heart rate was fine the entire time I was in labor so there was no reason for an emergency c-section. Finally after 4 hours, it was determined my pelvic bone was too high and the baby could never crown, even though she was in perfect position. I had my c-section shortly after that. Since I was in labor for so long, the pain medicine really knocked me out. I don't remember too much of the day my baby was born. Fast forward two years later to this past December, and I had a scheduled c-section. I had complete placenta previa and my daughter was breech so she was going to be a c-section anyway- but the experience was excellent for me! I spent the morning with my husband and daughter and then we left for the hospital at noon. By 2:40 my new baby was born and I was awake and alert for the entire thing. I so loved having a scheduled c-section! I walked myself into the operating room, sat on the table, got my spinal block and we were good to go. I was so excited! Being that I went through all that with my first, I definitely do not feel cheated at all!

Thanks for sharing your stories! Obviously the only thing we want is for our children to come out healthy...and that's really all the matters. When I was induced....it was exciting as well...just different.
I don't think i will even attempt for a vbac for my next child....the risks are just too scary and its really not important.

Re: since its C-section month on LIF...if you were induced...do u ever feel jipped from the whole CB experience?
at first yes. Especially since I had a crash. I was 10 days late. I was supposed to get induced, but supposedly I was going into contractions and never felt them. I also never dilated and was put under b/c DS HR went down
I never even had any pregnancy experience pple talk about.
I'm fine with it now and DH and I joke about it. This time I'm having a scheduled c, which is better than what I had b4. At least I'll be awake and hear the baby's first cry. I never got that. By the time I woke up in the recovery room he was calm and cleaned off. I was too out of it to hold him.

Re: since its C-section month on LIF...if you were induced...do u ever feel jipped from the whole CB experience?
I didn't feel cheated by the c-section itself. What I felt cheated by was the fact that since induction caused me to spike a fever, DS was whisked away to the NICU immediately. I didn't get to hold my son until 2pm the next day. My parents didn't get to meet him until day 3. That was what still hurts.
It's one of the reasons I am doing the scheduled c-section this time. Assuming everything goes well, I should be able to be with my child sooner!

Re: since its C-section month on LIF...if you were induced...do u ever feel jipped from the whole CB experience?
I know its silly since I have a healthy 4yr old and 2 yr old but I definitely feel gipped out of the labor experience. With DD, they lost the heartbeat for her at my OB appointment and since I was already starting labor, they induced me right away and I had her vaginally. But it was very scary and stressful, not knowing if she was even going to make it. I also never felt one labor pain or had that fun of the baby is coming!
With DS, I was HUGE and the doctor was worried about my BP and other issues so I was induced again. This time it led to an emergency C which was also terrifying.
Honestly, I wish I could have had a more fun birth experience and not be so afraid both my babies were going to die, but I have to be and am thrilled with the outcome

I elected to have c section I never wanted the whole L& D experience. everyone is different , I know girls who feel very upset by having had a c section
I had no epi and got to 7 CM and did not want to go any further it started to feel like torture at that point, I don't know how ppl go drug free

F.. Freaking HECK NO!
No way no how and no ma'am
Heck to a captial H NO WAY!
Same here. I had 2 C-sections and while I didn't expect that nor did I want that, I wouldn't have had it any other way b/c that is what the Dr's felt was medically necessary for me and for my babies and if that means they are here with me now, then that is what was supposed to happen and I cherish the fact that i birthed a child, regardless of how it came out. I do not feel cheated at all b/c I had a wonderful 9 months in the process.

Re: since its C-section month on LIF...if you were induced...do u ever feel jipped from the whole CB experience?
I wouldn't say I feel jipped, but I do wonder what it would have been like if I was able to go into labor on my own. I was induced at 38 weeks for medical reasons and wound up with a c-section. I probably would've ended up with a c-section no matter what, but it would've been nice to experience what regular contractions felt like and not the pitocin ones.

Well I was induced twice and wound up with 2 v-births. I dont feel jipped at all and actually liked being able to pack, plan, go out to a nice dinner and then show up at the hospital at a certain time(but I'm a control freak )
Same exact feelings and births here. I actually was so at ease because everything was so planned out. I held off on both of my epis for awhile so I could experience contractions and I felt both babies decend. I had 2 amazing births and wouldn't change a thing

Re: since its C-section month on LIF...if you were induced...do u ever feel jipped from the whole CB experience?
I have a friend who was in therapy for months over the fact that she did not have a vaginal birth - she felt like her body failed her - she was a mess over it. She had planned on a natural birth at home...so ending up in the hospital with a c-section was devastating to her.
I was induced and delivered vaginally and would think I probably would feel a little jipped if I had a c-section.

Re: since its C-section month on LIF...if you were induced...do u ever feel jipped from the whole CB experience?
I was not induced, but I had a scheduled C.
I was overall happy with the experience, and I think I was fortunate because due to my medical issues, I was prepared for a c/s early on, but I do wish I had the excitement of my water breaking, telling DH "It's time", the excitement of telling my relatives. I also wish I could have held her immediately and BFed the second she was born. Also, considering DD was so teeny tiny (born at 39 weeks 1 day at 6lbs, 6ozs 19 inches), I always wonder if she would have been easy to push out.
But for the most part, I am okay with it. I like knowing my lady parts will always stay intact!

Re: since its C-section month on LIF...if you were induced...do u ever feel jipped from the whole CB experience?
When my obgyn told me I needed a c/s because DS was breech I cried. I felt completely robbed of my vision of a "perfect" l&d. DS had other plans, my water broke and I had an emergency c/s. As I had eaten a granola bar they made me wait to deliver him. Well, I went from 7 cm to 10 cm and into transition. I did not feel the contractions until transition. I went from closed to fully dialated in one day. I did not feel going from 0 to 10 cm at all b/c DS was a footling frank breech. Transition contractions were no joke. The only thing I missed out on was pushing and frankly I am really ok with that. I had a hard pregnancy with him and a difficult recovery. I am thankful we both came out ok. With DD I had an easy pg and a great c/s. I am 100% fine with how things turned out but it took me a while to get to where I am now.

Re: since its C-section month on LIF...if you were induced...do u ever feel jipped from the whole CB experience?
i honestly do not feel "jipped" because I ended up needing a c-section. DS was predicted to be a big boy but he was not overly huge (9lbs 3oz) and I am afull framed person, so I honestly did not think there would be a problem giving birth. BUT, i just did not dialate or efface, even with being induced. I was induced twice. the first time I was 3 days late and I was given cervidil and nothing happened. I was only 1 cm dialated and not effaced so I told the doctor I wanted to go home. If I had a c-section then, I may have now felt jipped. But, i waited. At 10 days late I again was induced. Again with the cervidil, i was barely 3 cm at that point. They started the pitocin because my doc did not want to go longer. Even with pitocin for 4 hours i was not going into labor. I started getting contractions only after my ob broke my water. In the end, i have a healthy little boy and I would not risk that just because i wanted a vaginal birth. I didn't want a vaginal birth that desperatly that I would risk the unknowns.
ETA: We knew DS's exact due date because we had an IUI, so I was definitely 11 days late when he was born.
