Re: Since there are so many newly preggos
I think so much good advice has been given, so I echo all the other replies. My 1st pregnancy was great and I'm lucky that not much could have made it "easier" and I hope I have the same luck this time. My SIL who has 3 boys gave me the best advice...
Really enjoy every minute of your pregnancy (in particular for your first) because it will never be "the same" should you do it again. It's true so far, running around after Katherine has given me little time to relax and to sometimes even remember that I am pregnant. I really did savor each moment (well, most of them!) and so I pass on this advice to you!!

Re: Since there are so many newly preggos
my advice.....
drink lots of water indulge your cravings get LOTS of sleep take whatever 2nd hand you can get....never say no if it's in good shape. my favorite book was Your Pregnancy Week By Week. I felt like What to Expect was very condescending. The Girlfriend's Guide to Being Pregnant was HYSTERICAL. Loved it. let your emotions go....talk talk talk it out, cry it out, let yourself feel it ALL.

Another vote for "What to expect..." also, I could not have lived without my Snoogle!

Re: Since there are so many newly preggos
I may be alone in this, but my advice is to NOT read too much into your symptoms. I was driving myself crazy and my doctor told me to stop reading all the books and if I have a question, call and ask him. I'll tell you, it really put my mind at ease once I started doing that.
I also got the Snoogle and LOVE it. I would not be able to sleep without it!
Also, this board helped me tremendously! So many times I would just describe what I am feeling and so many great women would tell me either "it's normal" or "call your doctor." I really wouldn't know what I would have done without this board.

Can you girls give us some advice - one thing that has helped you make your pregnancy just a little bit easier? Whether it's a book, or a website, or a pillow that helped you sleep better? Any advice you can give us I know we would all really appreciate!!
Thanks!
you have time before you need to get snoogle or some sort of different pillow to sleep with, if you're a belly sleeper enjoy it now!
I have a ton of different books, what to expect - I dont' love it, reading all the questions and answers makes me a little nervous and uneasy lol but it can help you out a lot in between dr's visits.
I have some books that are week to week that I love and not just by month, this way you can see how you're changing and the baby is growing each week.
I use www.fertilityfriend.com and go to pregnancy tracker and it gives you week by week updates
babyzone.com babymed.com babyfit.com
you can sign up to the what to expect when you're expecting newsletter and they send you daily/weekly emails about you and your babies progression.
I heard the Jenny McCarthy book is really good too!
I'm sure there are a ton more and hopefully people will post and share!
Congrats again to you both!
I'm with you on "what to expect..." I read that book with my first child and it scared me...one minute I thought I was fine, I'd read that book and think I was dying of cancer! Luckilly, my MIL bought it for me for this baby!
My biggest piece of advice might be to discuss pregnancy with the women of your family...find out what they all went through, find out about menstrual cycles...I realized AFTER it was all too late that I was very much like my grandmother...a "late bloomer" with my first child a week early and 4 hours of labor. One of her kids came in 2 hours! Wow. It might seem a tiny bit awkward to discuss at first, but it could help you in the long run be more prepared!
