Sinus surgery?

This is a repost from NFR: thought I'd get a better response here:

We found out DH has to have sinus surgery. His nose is so badly filled with pollups he is barely getting any air in. They want to do one nostril first and then 3 months later do the other one. This way if they need to move his deivated septum, it's less stress doing 2 procedures instead of one.
Can anyone recommend a really good doctor? We have also lost a 13 yr old family member when an artery was clipped and the packing removed too early.
With how our year has gone, I can tell you I am nervous and really want a good doctor. Both my brother and sister had this done, but their doctor does not accept either of our insurances.

Re: Sinus surgery?

DH had nasal surgery for his deviated septum and something else (his sinuses were actually okay) and he used Thomas O'Donnell in Bayshore (631) 665-2430. He was great. I think there is also a Patchogue office.

Re: Sinus surgery?

I am so sorry to hear about your family member - that is so scarey! I had sinus surgery last February and it was tremendously successful. I went with Dr. Mattucci who is associated with North Shore Manhasset. Supposively he is the best of the best. I saw probably 5 doctors before going to him and he literally saved my life - he finally gave me a correct diagnosis and did the surgery and I was able to get on with my life - including having a baby which I would not have been able to do without the surgery due to the amount of antibiotics I was continuously on. Please let em know if you have ANY questions. But I highly recommend him.
