Sippy Cup Question
Ok so DS will hold a sippy cup and drink but he doesn't tilt his head back to drink. I've tired helping him do it but he just doesn't get it. So I had to give him the sippy cups with the straw. It's the only way he'll drink out of a cup. Not that he refuses all other cups it's just that he doesn't tilt his head back.
Does anyone else's DC do the same? What should I do about it? Should I just leave what works?

One night I tried giving him water in a different sippy cup, one without a straw and he took the cup and was sucking...thinking it was the straw so he took the cup out of his mouth and looked up at me with the cutest confused look...

What do you mean tilt his head back?
They are supposed to tilt the cup back and hold their head straight

Re: Sippy Cup Question
hmm Alyssa doesnt hold her head back either, she tilt the cup up a bit - she uses the straw cups too.
My cousin is a speech pathologist and she swears the sippy cups are bad for speech and that you should use a sraw cup right from the beginning. I lucked out and DD loves her straw cup so we went with that. Its good because she knows how to drink from a straw, so if we are out, I can just get her a kiddie cup of water or bottled water and put a straw in and shes god to go.....

Re: Sippy Cup Question
DD will not drink out of the regular sippy cups either. She drinks out of the straw kind the most cause she hasn't gotten that you need to tilt the cup up to get a drink, she actually just started "getting" it recently-she's 16 months.
I wouldn't push it. My dd drinks with a straw out of reg cup too.
What's the rush I say
