sippy/straw cup, transitioning to milk help PLEASE!
let me preface this by sayin i have an exctremely stubborn baby. right now, I BF DB in the AM and PM, and all day on weekends. during the week, she gets 2 bottles of pumped milk while i'm gone. we use the medlea 5 ounce bottles. she REFUSES to hodl the bottle, as per nanny. she also REFUSES to take a bottle form me. over the past few weeks, i have been trying to get her to take a sippy- she will take a couple of sips of water from the take n' toss 5 ounce ones. still prefers that someone holds it, but will hold it herself for a few sips. now- I am doen pumping. had enough. so, i am going to be switchign her to milk in a couple of weeks. and ped told me to work on straw cups, as opposed to sippys. 1. how do i get her to take a bottle or straw cup of milk from me? 2. what do i do about the fact she wont hold? jsut keep feeding her? i dont mind, but i know she can, she jsut wont 3. any SMALL straw cups out there? the only ones i see are the huge 10-12 ounce ones, i dont think she'll be able to manage that. . i knwo i can put hte take n toss straw tops on the cups i have, but really want one that wont leak. i saw these by Nuby, but have not seen them in a store- anyone know where i can get htem?
thanks!

Re: sippy/straw cup, transitioning to milk help PLEASE!
I got one in Target as well. These were horrible for my DD. They are really tricky to get the hang of. In order to get fluid u have to bite and suck on the straw at the same time. DD never figured how to do this. I didn't understand why DD couldn't drink from this until DH tried it and said this thing is impossible.
My DD is almost 14 months and still is on the bottle for formula (still on Neocate for milk protein allergy). She will drink, just recently her sippy cup of water. She isn't a huge drinker though. The only sippy cup she will drink from is the Nuby silicone spout cup.
I still also have to hold the bottle to feed her. If I let her do it she would never drink what she should. Eventually I am sure she will get there.
