Sitting in the back with your dc when someone else is driving?

When did you stop sitting in the backseat with your child when you werent driving?

Usually my dh is driving when we go somewhere and I sit in the back with my dd. I think I will do this until she is one and the chair gets turned around. My friend said I was crazy and to just sit up front with my dh again. I just feel like if she needs me, I will be right there. Anyone else?

I think I sat in the back with her for a few weeks, that was it. I didn't want her to get used to me being back there.

I only sat in the back with DD on the way home from the hospital. I always used the mirror to watch her.

I sit in the back, he hates being in the backseat alone. I questioned moving to the front seat, only so that Josh gets use to being back there solo when I have to drive...but I scraped that idea.

I only did that when we were on our way home from the hospital.

I think I did it for the first couple of times in the car - but now I only go back there if DD needs to eat or something

Depending on who's driving, dh or i will only jump in the back if she's out of control crying.
Otherwise we never sit with her. Dh or I do not want to feel like a taxi service But that's our agreement.

I think I sat with him for the 1st month. We got a mirror that was placed in front of him and I used that to see how he was.

I still do it and will probably keep doing it until we turn him around in his car seat when he is a year old.

I never do. We have on occasion when we don't want him to fall asleep to early or if he's due for a bottle.

I only sat in the back when we took her home from the hospital. But she always doses off the second we pull out of the driveway so all I 'd be doing would be staring at a sleeping baby.

i only sat in the back when my DS was crying or if we were on long trips and I had to feed him.

I always do and will until his seat faces forward. That way when i'm sitting up front and turn around to look at him I can see him easily.

I've never sat in the back with him unless someone else was sitting in the front passenger seat.

I am glad someone asked this...DD is only 3 weeks old, but I didnt know how long we should do this. I have a mirror for the back, but we go back and forth from Huntington to Rocky Point to visit DH's family and b/c we are still in the process of selling his house out there

I'm so guilty of doing this and maybe I'm creating a bad habit, but I do it for selfish reasons. I miss her so much during the day, that when DH and I pick her up from daycare I want to sit in the back and 'chat' on the car ride home.

Until when he was 15 months that was when we turned the car seat.

With my first, I only did it for a few weeks after he was born.

For my second, I NEVER did because there wasn't any room with the 2 carseats.

I only hop in the back when he needs to breastfeed.
