Skinny B**ch spinoff

That book pizzed me off. As im reading im thinking, are these 2 vegetarians or something? SO i look in the references in the back of the book and everything is "vegan this" or "vegan that"

Theyre pushing the whole vegan agenda!!

I was NOT impressed w/ the book, the info, or the advice

I'm sorry you felt that way. I thought it was a great book and a real eye opener to the cruelty and torture that animals in the meat and dairy industry endure everyday. Many people don't want to be "inconvienienced" by this knowledge, but I can't ignore it. There are ways to incorporate their advice without going vegan. After reading the book, I won't eat meat anymore but I can't give up eggs. Now I just make sure I buy cage free eggs.

yeah i guess youre right- i guess bc i was expecting a "normal" book of advice, strategies, etc.... that was my mistake i guess

And i want to add- I have NOTHING against vegetarian living (i was one for a long time) I guess the book wasnt what i wanted and it annoyed me.

I can definitely understand that. I wasn't aware it was going to be that way either when I picked it up.

Same here. I just thought it would tell me how to be skinny (I have the b*tch part down already Chat Icon). I haven't eaten meat since I read the book, though I still eat fish. I'm not a huge egg person anyway, but when I buy, I make sure to buy Certified Humane. I've heard that the Cage Free chickens aren't always treated as well as the label makes it sound.

Re: Skinny B**ch spinoff

I don't eat meat, so when I read it, I wasn't offended or annoyed. But if friends ask about it or someone wants to borrow it I always make sure to give them the heads up because it caught me by surprise and I think meat-eaters should be aware of it because it's quite a graphic chapter

Re: Skinny B**ch spinoff

The thing is that being a vegan IS their advice to be skinny. They don't hide that at all. The book is based on that and the reasons why it is healthy for you.

I agree, but I think they really do hide the ball about the vegan angle. You can't tell from the book cover or back that that's what the book is about. I have to say it - you really can't judge a book by its cover Chat Icon

Re: Skinny B**ch spinoff

Truth be told, if you want to adopt a healthy lifestyle, you have to go that route. I am reading the book now, and while I think its obnoxiously written, they really are very truthful when it comes to the facts....

I have been vegan for 11 years, and I am soo much healthier than when I wasn't.

Re: Skinny B**ch spinoff

I also was suprised at the message of the book but I was not upset about it.

Rather I have since given up all forms of meat and only eat it on a rare occasion when someone has made me dinner and it would be rude to refuse.

I also limit my dairy intake, switched to whole grains and have increased my fruits and veggies (sometimes organic) but have yet to cut out the sugars.

No significant change but my clothes are fiting much better and my love handles are gone!!!

When I start working out more Im sure I can lose a lot more- not sure if I'll ever be a Skinny B but its changed my life
