Skinny Jeans Question
This topic is currently up for debate. If you have an hourglass figure, but are not "skinny" can you wear skinny jeans. Say tucked into boots with a larger top?

Re: Skinny Jeans Question
I think so - I think anyone can wear a good fitting pair with a cute top
wearing them with boots balances curves IMO
wearing them with pumps is harder- but that doesn't mean they wouldn't look good
I just got the confidence to wear them with pumps
ETA- I consider myself to have an hourglass shape (I am short too) I pretty much wear skinny jeans every time I wear jeans

Re: Skinny Jeans Question
oh most definitely, just look at Kim Kardashian, I really think it depends on the jeans and how they fit you.
I have a butt and a small waist and this is pretty much what i wear now in the winter. I just had to go out there and try different pairs and then i found ones that fit great!

Re: Skinny Jeans Question
See...I was thinking that the boots would balance out the curves. I bought "our" boots and wanted to get a pair of skinny jeans. Which honestly, they are not skinny so much as straight. And wear them with an over size top. My daughter and friends say that their bigger friends wear skinny jeans all of the time and that it looks fine as long as the shirt isn't fitted. But they're 12 so I wanted an adult opinion.

I think "those" boots help a bit too - the style adds a bit to your calf and would help balance more
forever 21 has really inexpensice skinny jeans that fit me well- they weren't the $12- they were the $19 ones- get dark ones too- that helps alot as well

Re: Skinny Jeans Question
Which boots are you talking about?
I have a thick hourglass figure and I have never been a fan of skinny jeans for myself - I had tried them on and well, um, no. BUT I bought the beige boots that Beth had posted and I decided to buy my first pair of skinny jeans to tuck in the boots and I think it looked nice! I got complimented so I think others thought so too. I don't wear a fitted top with those jeans, but not a super loose one either.

Yes! I always feel like my hips and thighs are way out of proportion to the rest of me- and that skinny jeans only accent that fact!

Re: Skinny Jeans Question
I have been trying these on lately and they all look awful on me. I am a runner and my legs and calves are muscular so the jeans look like tights on me. They accentuate them where they don't look muscular they just look plump and stocky!
I love the look, I just can't pull it off!

I have thick legs as well. Try wearing boots that go up to your calf. And are a different color than the jeans. Ex. black jeans and light brown boots. Also, try a 'chunkier' boot as opposed to a pointy high boot.

I bought the same ones as you & Beth. Which thank goodness got marked at Piperlime where they were only ones who had my size. I'm looking forward to it!

Luckily I am well-endowed on top as well so hopefully I will look okay. If not...I can return them.
