Sleeping question help, 3.5 month old

so instead of getting better, ds is getting worse... last night he fell asleep at 8pm, woke up at midnight... ate 6 oz of formula... woke up at 2:30am, ate 3oz of breastmilk and fell asleep while eating... woke up again at 6:15am... he eats like crazy lately, until recently he only ate about 4 oz of breastmilk every 2-3 hours, now he is able to eat from 5-9oz at a time Chat Icon I keep thinking that he is hungry all the time... I dont have enough breastmilk for him so I had to start giving him 1 bottle of formula per day... is it possible that formula and milk is not enough anymore? Chat Icon

It's definitely a possibility. I think we started cereal at 4 months. Also, he might be going through a growth spurt with all that drinking.Chat Icon

he started to roll onto his stomach this weekend, so it is a possibility that he just needs more food for all the changes he is going through...

Re: Sleeping question help, 3.5 month old

DS is 3.5 months as well. I started giving him cereal. However, he is only up once in the middle of the night and about once or twice in the morning. I dont think that cereal helps with them sleeping longer. I think that is just a myth. B/c so far DS hasn't slept longer. DS goes down at 10-11pm and is up at 3:45 so he sleeps for a good 5 hours.
