Sleeping with infant on your chest

any of you find that your infant will only (or most of the time) fall asleep on your chest - and did you sleep with your baby that way at all? it scares me

Andrew slept on my chest a lot as an infant. I wouldn't fall asleep with him like that, but if I knew he was sound asleep I'd then move him into his crib.

my husband is a NERVOUS NELLY - way more than me - but his anxiety makes me more anxious - considering she's only a few weeks old I guess it's normal to be anxious about everything Chat Icon I know my sis-in-law said my niece would only sleep on her in the beginning too........

THANK GOD FOR THIS BOARD!!!!!!!!!! Chat Icon

Nicholas used to do that and I let him do that during the day when I was awake. At night, the few times that I tried to do it I woke up every few minutes so scared that something could happen to him.

Today, I miss so much those moments when he took nis naps in my arms.

My son LOVES to sleep on my chest and will fall asleep instantly the minute I put him on my chest. I don't let him sleep on my chest overnight, but just recently I starting bringing him (he's 5.5 mos old) into bed with us in the am and put him on my chest and we both go back to sleep for a little bit. I love those momentsChat Icon

My husband & I would sleep with them on our chest all of the time. They're like a little hot water bottle. That's how I discovered Joseph slept better on his belly. I moved him off of me & on to his Gymini mat. He slept for 4 hours straight. After that I did research on belly sleeping.

We loved doing that. It's such a great feeling when they fall asleep on you or next to you. Cherish it, it doesn't last forever...

I will say it feels sooooo good Chat Icon my mother used to say (before I had Karissa) that she couldn't wait to lay with her and have her on her chest - now I understand!
