sling recommendation for newborn
i think i need a sling - im just too active around the house and think its probably better that i have both hands free.
what is a good one to use with newborns?
i dont really want a bjorn - just something that is simple to use and will allow me to be close to the baby but have my hands accessible.
thanks!

Re: sling recommendation for newborn
I LOVE the Moby Wrap- but I don't know if that would qualify as "simple" lol. Once you get it I think it is very simple, but it's a little overwhelming at first bc it's one huge long piece of fabric. I just watched an instructional video on youtube and how it down. Now it's a piece of cake. It's incredibly comfortable- for mom and baby! Before I got it, I used the Bjorn, I know you said you don't want it though) which I found to be good for a quick and simple baby-hold while I was doing stuff in the house.
ETA: My SIL used a sling from mammasmilk.com with my nephew and she loved it and highly recommended it.

Re: sling recommendation for newborn
I have the Maya Wrap (a ring sling) and I loved it for when DS was a newborn. We had to retire it for right now because he doesn't like his legs to be confined. I have the Moby now and so far I love it, but have only used it a few times.

Re: sling recommendation for newborn
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my moby wrap and I am so mad that I didn't have it for my first baby. In the beginning I used it for a cradle hold and now I use it for a position similar to the bjorn. I also had to watch a few youtube videos to get the hang of it.

I also really like a Mai Tai, its really simple and will last for a good long time. If you have a newborn, a ring sling is great also.

Re: sling recommendation for newborn
I used my ring sling daily when he was a newborn, now I use my beco daily. I got my ringsling from sleeping baby productions and I can't speak highly enough about them.

Re: sling recommendation for newborn
I love my moby & used it with DD#1 until she was over a year old and DD#2 loves it too.
I had someone show me how to use it, but once you get the hang you can put it on in seconds!!!!
