Ok - so as you know I am still trying to figure this thing out and haven't moved off the Auto button yet.
I have a few shots that I think would look great in black and white. Do I just do this when I put the pics onto Ofoto - or is there a way to do it in the Camera software - where I store the pics?
Also - is there a button on the camera to take black and white shots?

Re: SLR Camera Experts
There is an option to switch the photo to b/w. Its usually the center one-in the dial.
I have a Nikon D40...that is where mine is.
I like downloading in color and changing it to b/w because once you take in b/w, you cant change it to color.

Ok - I def. have to read my manual.
Once you change it to black and white - do you do it on a website (like Ofoto) or w/ the camera software where the pics are stored?

Diana...I do the same as Deb...I take and download the picture in color and then change to black and white in whatever I am in...Shutterfly, Snapfish, or even in Photoshop.

Re: SLR Camera Experts
Can I make a suggestion?
Never take B&W photos.
You can easily convert a color photo to B&W using any number of photo editing software.
Once the photo is in B&W, you are stuck with it. It is VERY difficult (or at least I found it difficult) to change the color of something to look natural.

Thank girls - I will stick to color and make it black and white once I download them to Ofoto!

Re: SLR Camera Experts
You can change a picture that is taken in color and turn it b/w on your camera...it makes a new b/w copy and keeps your color copy as well.
