I've never lost power in any snow storm we've had in the 10 yrs I've been in my house..........even during the 30" we got two years ago. I'm not stressing about it, it's unlikely it will happen. Heavy, wet snow and ice storms are usually worse when it comes to losing power, this fluffy stuff doesn't usually matter............at least it hasn't since I've had my house.

Finger crossed history repeats itself. But even still, I love snow!!!! Chat Icon

Or if the roof collapses or a tree falls.
Snow stopped being fun when I had to deal with all the adult responsibilities. Like driving in it, working, shoveling, worrying about a house.

Did you lose power in sandy? We did..for 10 days. I'm not concerned about the snow. I'm concerned about the wind they are predicting could reach up to 65mph knocking trees down and knocking down wires and transformers. Losing power in October is quite diff than losing it in January in this weather.

And Nell...totally agree. These storms can cause a lot of damage that costs a lot of money.

And that's exactly why I can't get excited about a Girl Scout Jamboree of milk, cookies, and campfire songs!

Plus, I'm working tomorrow. From home, but that is SO much worse than working in an office. DD is already driving me nuts. Trying to do a con call and she is running around singing.
I cannot WAIT to go back to work!!!!!!!
I am praying i can go Wednesday!

I dont get the whole, great way to spend time with yor family thing either. Honestly, do people really never spend time with their family? We all just were together for the weekend. Now we are stuck in the house for another 2 days? Lol.

Great for you. Not everyone has weekends off. We both work weekends and work opposite shifts. So it's actually nice for us to have quality time together with our child, when we would have been working otherwise...

Sorry to hear that. You dont have days off together ever?

Sometimes we happen to get a day off together but it's rare. Today and tomorrow our jobs closed so it will be nice for us to spend some time. There no regular Sundays off of anything like that

Agreed!

I don't SECRETLY love this..................I flat out LOVE this!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon DH is already on his way home, my DD had an early dismissal, both of them are home tomorrow and possibly Wednesday, the house is stocked with goodies, and we're getting ready for our first round of cooking and baking!! I'm in my glory!!!!

I love being home with DH and the kids all cozied up, junking out, watching movies, and enjoying the snow. I think this is AWESOME! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Totally agree, but what if we lost power? Not so in love with this anymore huh? Lol

Chat Icon

Never enough time with my family, I love spending time with DH especially!!! We always have fun together!! And it's nice snuggling inside with the kids with nowhere to be. Not everyone looks forward to time away from their kids and DH. Chat Icon
