I have a craftsman. (From Sears).

I suggest a 24" opening based on the snow we get. Get gas powered. Mine is "self" propelled which is a LIFE saver. We have like 4 forward speeds and 2 reverse speeds. You spend in the $700+ range for something like this.

ETA: The snow chute has a do-dad that will allow us to "throw" snow in different directions from the handlebar. I can change the chute from the handlebar RATHER than having to go to a crank on the body of the snowblower.

Look at the difference from the $714 to the $629. That mechanism that allows me to move the chute from the handlebars is gold.
