Snow tubing

DH and I are going to plan a weekend snowtubing in Jan/Feb. He has a bum knee and I'm not that balanced so we're not going to attempt skiing. We figured tubing is more our speed. We've never been so I have no idea what it's like Chat Icon

Anyone have any suggestions as to where to go or tips/tricks? Anywhere within a 3-4 hour driving radius would be fine with me...

TIA!

Re: Snow tubing

I've been skiing at Hunter and Windham and bother were good considering how close they are.

But I've never been tubing at either of these places - only skiing, and its been quite a few years since I even did that.

We take Stepson to Hunter Mountain, we all have a great time! It is a few hours drive, but before you get to the slopes you pass thru a small town and we always stop to eat there. Hunter breaks out snowtubing into sessions of 2 hours each, I think, so check the website first before you head up.

You can also check into the slopes in the Berkshires -- many now offering snowtubing as well.

Re: Snow tubing

we go to windham every year for skiing, haven't tubed yet but LOVE it there. my sister takes my niece (along with my nieces friends and their parents go as well) tubing every year to shawnee mountain in pa. it's not far at all, not very big but they always have a blast.
