So DH and i watched a lamaze video
over the past 2 nights as i decided not to take the childbirth course (i am hoping to have an epidural) but i still wanted to have an idea of breathing and relaxation techniques. so i got a DVD from blockbuster that i thought was pretty recent, NO its from like 1980, it is hysterical, DH and I was dying ove rthe clothes and hair. I am sure the breathing techniques are the same as now though as what she was teaching was familiar. And my DH is the best, he was all about following all the exercises and practicing, i am so lucky we decided to practice the techniques once a week form now on so we are fresha dn ready to go
so toward the end of the DVD they show a live birth, literally the women is talking the patient through her contractions one min and the next a women is pushing and and their showing the baby crowning, i was in shock as i have never seen a birth before, DH said it wasn't bad at all and started tearing up when the baby came out, he said he was glad he saw the video b/c if he saw our baby being born and he was white/purple like this baby was coming out, he would have worried and now he knows that its normal for them to look like that at first

Was it "Having Your Baby"? I've heard that one is pretty dated.
We took the childbirth class- but wound up watching most of "Pregnancy for Dummies" through the course!!! 150.00 to take a tour and watch videos...

omg, try youtube. I stumbled across QUITE a few very graphic videos of childbirth - omg. This would scare ANYONE into not having kids vaginally...
I'm trying to desensitize myself (hahah!) to the birth process so when dh and I start trying next year we know what we're really in for!
