So I guess Fortunoff is officially closed!
I went to Old Navy last night and Fortunoff was dark! The whole place was like a ghost town...very sad!

Yep. The last day was Sunday. I went to "say goodbye" since I worked there for 5 and a half year. The store was wrecked. It was really sad!

Re: So I guess Fortunoff is officially closed!
the last day they were open was 5/31. very sad indeed. I went there the weekend before they closed and almost cried - the place was 90% empty. so depressing I loved that store!
it will be interesting to see what happens to the Source Mall now that the anchor store is closed. there are a few stores that I think do really well (Saks Off 5th, Nordstrom Rack, ATL), but most of the stores I do not think will survive.

Yes it is very sad about Fortunoff. Cheesecake Factory & PF Changs also help keep that mall going. They are always packed. I am confident that the mall will survive. It has to. I can't have my husband w/out a job. My DH is the Asst. Mgr. at Golf Galaxy at the Source and the store does very well. There is talk of Lord & Taylor possibly moving into Fortunoff's spot and maybe PC Richards moving to Circuit City's spot.

So, so sad. Dh and I went to say goodbye when they first announced this in Feb and I never went back because I didn't want to see it like that.
I remember the night we picked the perfect patio set and sat talking on it for an hour to try ti out. My fav wedding gift, our freestanding porch swing came from there. So many happy memories.
Getting shower gifts wrapped for my friends, the Christmas shop, the monograming dept. No other store with be the same.
RIP Fortuniff

We got our wedding bands from there.
It's so sad that the store no longer exists!

Re: So I guess Fortunoff is officially closed!
I saw that the furniture store over by me closed a couple weeks ago and I was sad. Amazing how a business can be lost like that.
