I do not get paid maternity leave either. But they will hold my job for me for 6 weeks, so that is a plus.
Just try saving up money now. Do you have any vacation time you can cash in?
You can also apply for disability, I believe it is still $170 a week for 5 weeks after waiting period of 1 week.

Re: So I just found out my company doesnt offer paid maternity leave.
My job does not offer paid maternity leave at all. I am entitled to FMLA and short term disability. I get 12 weeks off unpaid. What I did last time and will do this time is use up all my sick/personal time to get paid. It might only be 2 weeks salary but it's something. I will also get disability in conjunction with this (6 weeks for vaginal and 8 weeks for C-section). The only extra I get is that my company offers private disability so it's more than the federal amount.
Just try to save as much as you can now.

Honestly- most private business do not from what I see. This country is very far behind the rest of the world when it comes to taking care of working women who have babies. It's really sad.
And a cause of a lot of undue stress during your pregnancy...

Re: So I just found out my company doesnt offer paid maternity leave.
most companies don't offer paid maternity leave...
i'm eligible for FMLA which will give me 12wks of unpaid leave, ny state disability 170/wk and std which has a 30 day waiting period but i'll get at least 2-4 wks of that which is 60% of my salary...save your vacation & sick time to use and save as much $ as you can
oh and just an FYI if you collect ny disability and then get private std payments, they will deduct the ny state amount from the private ins payment

This is the same as with my company. Luckily I'd been here awhile and had a ton of banked sick days.

I agree that most companies dont offer paid maternity leave. Those who have it are very lucky. I believe if your company has 50 or more employees you are eligible for 12 weeks FMLA (but that is unpaid). You should also be able to apply for 6-8 weeks of disability which isn't much but every little bit helps.

Re: So I just found out my company doesnt offer paid maternity leave.
And I just have to add- that my company is so GOD AWFUL that they don't even let us bank or roll over PTO days. So I have been saving up all my PTO days like an idiot- only to find out that I can only roll 5 into May 1st and I have to use those 5 by June 30th or lose them. I'm due late June so I'll have practically nothing. Even though I've been here for 3 years.
NICE RIGHT?
