So I told some of my younger students today that I'm pregnant...
Just for background, I teach music to 1st-8th graders and I told my older kids around 13 weeks that I'm pregnant and they were over the top excited, but I decided I wanted to see how long it would take for the little ones to realize I'm pregnant, so I didn't tell them. Well, today, I was like, ok, this is enough already and told my third graders. Some of them had no reaction, most of them were super excited, a couple said they already knew and then there was that one kid who had to say, "Oh, whew! I thought you were just getting REALLY fat!!!"   And he kept saying, "Wow, Mrs. W, thank goodness you're pregnant, I was so worried you were just fat!" And he kept saying it because he really WAS relieved! I wanted to hug him and say, "Thank you! I guess this means you didn't think I was fat before!"  , which, for the record, I was

That is really cute when a 3rd grader says it. It wasn't cute when one of my 10th graders said the same thing to me

Hahaha so cute! I work in a special ed preschool and I love the things that come from some of their little mouths. 2 weeks ago (keep in mind, I was 36 weeks at that point), one of my 4 year olds said "Miss Maureen, you look like you have a baby in your belly!" So I said "That's because I do have a baby in my belly!" His eyes bugged out and he goes "WHAT?!" It was like I totally just rocked his universe!
After we got back from our Christmas break yesterday, another 4 year old said "Did your baby come out of your belly yet??" So I pointed to my belly and said "Nope, it's still in there." And another kid in the class goes "How does the baby come out of your belly anyway?" So I just said "Magic." Haha- I had no clue how to respond to that one!
