But am unsure who's doorstep to put it on.....
Would you put it on the people you really like or the person you think would keep it going???????

I am going to get this started in my neighborhood this week. Someone started it last year by this time but so far no activity this year.
I am going to start with the two families on the block that have young children since I think they will get a kick out of it.

Its basically poem and you put a bunch of treats in the bag and leave it on a neighbor's doorstep.....they have to hang the ghost you include on their door so the neighbors know they've been boo'd.......they then have to boo another neighbor and so on.......
If you do a search for AndreaLMT with boo from last year it should come up - she got boo'd and Anna had bumped it a few weeks ago.....its really cute.

I've done it every year on my block but they never got the hang of expanding it to anyone else.
Eh, who cares..My kids get a kick out of dressing in dark colors & bellying up to the door like spies.

we do this in the school i work at.... when you get "booed", its usually a goodie bag with some candy or little halloween stuff, i got halloween socks in mine one year... and theres also a sign in it that says " i've been booed" you're supposed to put this sign on your classroom door so that everyone knows you've been booed.
SO.. when you get "booed", you then have to make a goodie bag, too, and secretly put it in someone else's classroom that hasn't been "booed" yet.

We call it the "Halloween Phantom" and did it to a friend of my son's. They will be reciprocating tonight. The kids get such a kick out of it. It's really cute.

If you do not wish a curse to fall,
Continue this greeting, this "Phantom" call.
First post this "Phantom" where it can be seen,
And leave it there until Halloween.
This will scare other "Phantoms" who may visit,

Second, make two treats, two Phantoms, and two notes like this,
Deliver them to two friends who may have been missed.
Don't let them see you, be sneaky, no doubt...

I did it in my neighborhood this year and it was a huge flop. It took the wind out of my sails. My neighbors did not get it and because you are not supposed to say who you are everyone was very suspicious. Even my DH was like "I would never keep that going or eat the candy. You have no idea who gave it to you and it could be a lunatic." It is sad that we live in a world were the BOO is a bad/scary thing.
I hope it works for you. You may want to put your name on it and just tell them to keep it going. I think I will put my name on it next year and see if that helps it take off.
