OMG, this reminds me of what happened when I was in labor. The girl next to me gave birth and the baby was stillborn my DH said he felt so bad that when he came out to tell our family the good news in the waiting room the other husband was telling his family the sad news and they were all crying.

Re: So nervous and anxious for today (memorial ceremony for stillborn baby) - UPDATED
A close family member of mine lost her baby at 20 weeks - when I was 16 weeks pregnant.
It was hard to see her after that for awhile. I was pregnant - and she obviously wasn't. Nobody WANTS to talk about it with them - but I just sat with her and let her talk to me about it. And, she actually talked alot about everything that happened. I think sometimes people are scared to bring it up when it possibly could help them to talk to people about what they went through. Who knows. Just wanted to share my experience with it!

I can't imagine the pain she is in- as well as your own sadness. You are a very good friend for being there for her.

I am so sorry for your co-worker and her family. I hope no one has to go through that type of situation
When my sister was in labor with her first, there was a girl down the hall who had to deliver a stillborn at full term. At her hospital , all the babies and mommy's stats show up in each room (there is a split screen). They took this woman's stats off the monitors so no one else in labor had to see. I walked into my sister's room, and overheard the nurse telling my mother about it. I only heard my mother asking the nurse not to tell my sister and I thought for a few minutes that it was my sister's baby that they were referring to. I will never forget the amount of pain that my heart felt when I heard that. I am tearing up even now (9 years later) at even the thought about it.

I have been on the same end as you. My SIL had to deliver a stillborn at 30 wks (that was 5 1/2 yrs ago). The service was difficult, and I too did not know what to say (DH and I were not married at the time).
