So proud of my girl.. This is sad though.
So, my mom picked DD up from the bus stop this afternoon so she could spend the day with her before I got out of work. (DD had a 1/2 day of school today).. My mom proceeds to tell me that DD has a boy on her bus, same age and same grade as DD (6 1/2 yrs old, 1st grade).. and the boy is always mean to everyone on the bus, so today they were all ganging up on him. Well, my DD told my mom that she "was standing up for him" and telling him that if he is just nice to everyone then he will have friends and he will feel better. (the boy was crying) So then, the worst part of this all is that the little boy says to my DD that he "just wants to kill himself" So DD drew him a picture of a sad face and wrote "NO!!!!".. I am so proud of my girl for trying to make him feel better even though he is known as the bus "bully"... she did the right thing. But OMG, a 6 year old saying he wants to just kill himself is crazy.... My mom said she is going to call the school in the morning and tell them she is worried about that little boy. It doesnt hurt to be cautious, right? I am so upset over this... Where does a 6yr old learn this stuff?

that is too sweet of her, you should pat yourself on the back for raising such a thoughtful and compassionate little girl....
I would call the school too - and let the principal know, he may or may not completely know what the words mean (guessing he heard them somewhere - I can't imagine him coming up with it all on his own! ) but still, it worries me too!

I would definitely notify the school. So sad at that age especially. Kudos to your daughter. You must be doing a great job!

What a wonderfully smart little girl you have. It's so sad to hear a 6 year old talk like that. I really hope your mom was able to call the school and inform them of his words. Although he probably doesn't know what the words mean, it is still serious. Like someone said he most likely heard it in passing.
You have every right to be proud of your daughter!
