so sad for my sister....pregnancy related

my sister today found out that her thyroid levels are off the charts (she basically has a non-functioning thyroid). Both my mother and myself have thyroid issues. I'm extremely familar with the condition. I actually had to have surgery before my 1st DC was concieved because of this.

BUT the endo strongly told my sister to hold off on "trying" until her levels get under control (which could be months).

She wanted us to get pregnant sort of together. They were "trying" and DH and I were just "having fun".....

Well we're 8 weeks pregnant and while I know my sister and BIL will be ESTATIC, I somehow feel really sad.

Anybody else go through something similar with their sister?

i did not have a similar experience with a sister but just wanted to say i can totally relate... i had a wacky thyroid also and had surgery last january, doctors had warned i'd likely have trouble conceiving if it wasn't addressed. crummy situation but hopefully they can get it under control soon!
