So tell me, is the City Mini NOT really suitable for newborns?

I know the inside part is not super supportive (sans carseat) so I planned on placing a headrest inside if I were to use without a carseat. But now I'm hearing this stroller is best used for when baby is a bit older, like 6 months, where the support factor isn't as much of an issue. I planned to just use a carseat most of the time, and also register for a snap and go, but people are telling me I should register for 2 strollers. A more sturdy, supportive starter one AND CM. What do you think?

can you get a car seat attachment? If not, you could consider the snap n go which is a stroller frame. I used this for about 4 months and then I started using my regular stroller.

I'm most likely getting the City Mini and a Snap and Go and will use latter until DC is ready for the bigger stroller. You can also get the car seat attachment for the city mini.

I registered for the city mini and the car seat adapter so I can use my graco snugride with it if I want. I also registered for the snap and go incase I prefer that when the baby is an infant

Re: So tell me, is the City Mini NOT really suitable for newborns?

ok thanks girls. i was considering registering for the graco quattro or a peg perego starter stroller, but i don't want to be wasteful. i want the baby to be safe of course, but i feel like a lot of girls get a $$$ stroller and use it for a few months and that's it. plus, where am i going without the carseat at first?

Those were my thoughts. I just got a Snap n Go and a Maclaren (wasn't quite as familiar with the City Mini then but, wish I had gotten one).

DS was in the City Mini on his own at 4 months. Before that I had a Snap and Go as a hand me down so I used that with the carseat. If I didn't have it I just would have gotten the car seat adapter for the city mini. In my opinion you don't need any other stroller but that's me. Chat Icon

thanks! you just hear so many opinions from everyone. very helpful but just when you think you're "set" something throws a wrench in the plan. i will look at some of the starters before deciding 100 percent but I think I'm gonna stick with my original plan.

I registered for a snap & go and the city mini .. I plan to use the city mini when he is a little older. I don't think another stroller is necessary

I have two DD's. I remember stressing about which strollers to get. So I originally got the graco quatro with infant carrier and I got a jogger stroller. I was fine with it originally and then wished I had gotten a Maclaran umbrella stroller - it came in much handier to long term effect.

Then I had dd two years later and everything went out becuase now I needed double. I had so many strollers and didn't know what to do w/all of them.

I never registered for another stroller.

I used the snap and go until she was 3 or 4 months and then she was fine int he city mini. I just reclined the seat back a little.

I used both the City Classic and the Gracco Snap and Go in the beginning. I didn't have any "support" issues.

ETA: The City Classic that I have reclines, not sure if the City mini does.

We started using the city mini at 6 months. Even then I felt like DS was drowning it it.
