so the big girl bed does not work either
i am about to give up, it has been about a week of Madison in her big girl bed, of course it is right next to me, she sleeps from 8-2 AM then she is up till 4 wanting to play, finally last night I just put her in the living room and put on good old noggin until she fell asleep, now she has been napping for like 2 hours already.................. what do you ladies think is the problem?

Re: so the big girl bed does not work either
hmmm well i don't know the history so forgive me if i am completely off the mark. how long has she been sleeping in your room? has she ever slept in her own room? i know it is so extremely hard but i think that sleeping in their own room is the key to everyone getting a good night's sleep...but that is much easier said than done for sure! she probably wants to play b/c she can see you and it hypes her up. but thats just a guess. at that age they start to "know" what they can get away with and manipulate i think. where does she take her naps? sorry this is happening. wish i could give more advice!

Re: so the big girl bed does not work either
I agree with the other poster about their own room.
DD has her own sleeping space at home and she sleeps through the night. We were on vacation over Christmas and she had to sleep in the same room as us. She was up every night at 2am wanting to play. It was exhausting.
Hope you find something that works soon!

i don't know the history either but she's only 8 months, she won't sleep in a crib? Definitely try putting her in her own room, seeing you would only make her want to play for sure...

Can she see you from her bed?
If so, maybe covering the sides so she can't see you? Safely, of course.

yes she can see us, so we tried blankets and all kinds of stuff but nothing works, so the past 2 days she has been in bed with me and dh slept on the couch, we all got a full night sleep that way each night

yeah..i think that until your living arrangement changes you will just have to ride it out. but know that eventually there will come a time when everyone is in their own space!
